(Work in progress)
RSVP is an association of independent initiatives from the field of design and related disciplines. Artifacts from their events are collected and archived on an online platform. By coming together in one place, the initiatives form new connections and increase each other's visibility.
The online platform serves as an interface between the initiatives, the performers and the viewers. Initiatives announce, stream and archive events. Artifacts such as recordings, photo documentation, poster designs, presentations, information about the performers, contact details of all those involved, etc. are collected so that the performers’ impulses continue to have an impact even after the events have ended.
(RSVP is still in development. Most of the content was added for exemplary purposes and is not authorized by the initiatives. Hence I would ask you not to share the website.)

Reframing an object of authority into a game in public space. LA-Wien is played by two people. One tries to match the extension of the barrier to the changing target extension, which is shown on the screen and communicated by the other person.
'Scherenabsperrgitter' can be found at many seemingly arbitrary places around Vienna. This kind of barrier is designed to create a temporary border. They stop people from entering or leaving a defined space. Their interactive quality, caterpillar-like movement and random distribution in public space make them a perfect readymade toy.

The visual theme of season 17 "Balance of Perspectives" embodies the initiative's intent to provide a stage to creatives with diverse background from different creative fields. Each performer is symbolized by a shape, loosely connected through a mobile, inspired by Alexander Calder's sculptures. The audience gets to enter a different perspective during each lecture. Animations, spatial mirror posters, merch, jewelry and a 3D-printed mobile incarnate the visual metaphor.
KD—Lounge is a public lecture series about design and its related disciplines. It aims to inspire, educate and entertain by creating a platform to learn from first hand experiences. The series offers creators a stage to express themselves. KD—Lounge is independently organized by students of communication design in Constance, Germany since 2008 and grants an exclusive insight into the current design industry.

The abstract visual subjects in season 18 "Collective Memory" allude to the collective sharing of experiences and events. Public work by the lecturers was used as training data for a GAN, generating an abstract and individualized visualization. By converting the temporal dimension of the latent space walk into a third spatial dimension, the evolving GANs became sculptures, placed and animated in an artificial scene, abstractly described in advance by the lecturers.
Collectively sharing time, space and experiences is one of the core values of KD-Lounge. During a lecture, presenters share their work, thoughts and philosophy. The GAN generated output is a visual metaphor for this space. In analogy to the idea of a collective memory, previous works were curated, recreating the process of conscious remembering and forgetting. The algorithmic processing of training data by the GAN and the subsequent organic-looking result illustrate the evolution of a collective memory.
To access the information printed on the physical posters, the viewer has to photograph the poster using the camera's flash, illuminating the reflective silkscreen ink. Not only does this interaction reveal information, but a memory of the moment is stored
on the user’s device.

Investigating whether cyanotype can be used to translate the digital processes of light-baking and UV mapping into the physical reality. During the cyanotype process, a medium is coated with a light-reactive solution. Areas which are exposed to UV-light develop a blue color, while unexposed areas retain their original color. In this experiment, an object wrapped in a sensitized cloth was exposed to different lighting situations.
3D programs are an attempt to translate physical reality into virtual reality. Fundamentally different methods are used to arrive at a comparable result. Light-baking and UV-mapping, two commonly used methods in 3D programs, are strictly virtual processes. The experiment UV goes the opposite direction, translating said digital methods into physical reality.
